Faux Pixels

There was an article in the Times about the new services offered for photo retouching. click here. “Most pictures are about memories,” Mr. Berend said. “They’re to be looked at years later. When you show your kids your wedding picture, it’s nice that they’re nice. Harsh reality is not always what people want.” The article speaks more to the vanity that photoretouching targets, I see that vanity and I challenge it. Don't stop at just retouching, save BAD, TERRIBLE pictures of yourself and others and have a laugh parade about it for years to come.

Anyway, this only adds much needed fuel to my desire to create a bad photo archive. It is my fear (not that major...) in life that one day children will never know the site of closed eye and big smile, and so forth. So, I urge my reader to not delete "bad" photos, and not touch up the rest. A call to a purer worse personal image. I leave you with this image, that I at first wanted to erase, but preserved, phew...

Council House 2

I just read about Australia's greenest building, on Inhabit.
Check it out: http://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/info.cfm?top=171&pg=1941

Bike spaces: 80
Showers for cyclists: 9
Car spaces: 20 plus one disabled space. The car park can be converted to office space or other uses.

Payback period

It is estimated that in 10 years time the sustainability features will have paid for themselves. Further benefits that could reduce this figure include:

* healthier staff – less time lost to colds, flu and other illnesses;
* increased workplace effectiveness;
* less costs for public domain and infrastructure; and
* the value of building as a guiding light in sustainable building.

fantastic!

Unafforable Housing

In a recent work assignement, I had the opportunity to observe som unaffordable housing, specifically a Penthouse unit on Central Park South, in a Trump Building.
It is a 4000 Sq. Ft. for 2 people, a banker and his lady. 5 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, and views that make me melt.
Check it out:

Also, the basement looks like the one at Magnolia Plaza, I am not sure if I posted it, but it def looks like a Magnolia hall.
