Faux Pixels

There was an article in the Times about the new services offered for photo retouching. click here. “Most pictures are about memories,” Mr. Berend said. “They’re to be looked at years later. When you show your kids your wedding picture, it’s nice that they’re nice. Harsh reality is not always what people want.” The article speaks more to the vanity that photoretouching targets, I see that vanity and I challenge it. Don't stop at just retouching, save BAD, TERRIBLE pictures of yourself and others and have a laugh parade about it for years to come.

Anyway, this only adds much needed fuel to my desire to create a bad photo archive. It is my fear (not that major...) in life that one day children will never know the site of closed eye and big smile, and so forth. So, I urge my reader to not delete "bad" photos, and not touch up the rest. A call to a purer worse personal image. I leave you with this image, that I at first wanted to erase, but preserved, phew...
